Delete your account
You can delete your Omphalis account at any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Export first if you want to keep anything
Deletion removes your reading and everything you built on top of it, including work that only exists inside Omphalis: the marks you made, the notes you attached to them, and the connections that accumulated across your Library. None of that can be reconstructed afterwards, and we cannot recover it for you.
Open Settings, then Account, then Export, and wait for the export to finish before you start the deletion steps below. The export is prepared in the background and you will be told when it is ready.
What gets removed
Everything: your Library items, Inbox items, Collections, saved audio, and every mark and note you have made. Your login is removed.
What is kept, and why
Billing records are kept where tax and accounting law requires it. They record that a payment happened, not what you read. Server logs age out on their own schedule and are never used to rebuild an account.
Deleted content can also survive briefly in routine encrypted backups, which exist so a failure cannot destroy other people's libraries. Those backups roll over on a short cycle and are never restored selectively to bring an account back. See the privacy policy for the full retention terms.
If you are on a paid plan, cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel billing. Once the account is gone, there is no account left through which to reach or stop the subscription, so cancel it before you start the steps below.
From the app
Open Settings, then Account, then Delete account. You will be asked to type your email address and the word DELETE to confirm.
Without the app
If you cannot reach the app, write to us from the address on your account through the contact page and ask for deletion. We will confirm before anything is removed.
How long it takes
Deletion from the app is immediate. A request sent by email is completed within 30 days.
