# Two ways to work with your sources.

NotebookLM is now called Gemini Notebook. [Google announced the new name in July 2026.](https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/products/gemini-notebook/notebooklm-gemini-notebook/) We use the familiar NotebookLM name below.

NotebookLM and Omphalis both let you ask questions about sources and follow citations back to them. NotebookLM also offers several ways to study the material. Omphalis puts reading, explanations, notes and narration together around the source you have open.

For some tasks, yes. Both support questions grounded in sources. Try Omphalis if your main task is reading or listening to a source, opening explanations as you go, and keeping notes with the material.

### Does Omphalis summarize my documents?

Omphalis can provide summaries to help you get oriented. The full source remains available for reading, explanations, questions and notes.

### Is listening the same in both products?
